Refreshments after Ascension Service
After worship on the festival of Ascension we would like to offer refreshments to our members and guests. If you are able and willing to help us in this effort please write sign up using the sheet in the back of church.
Little Lambs Spring Program – May 6 @ 3:30pm
Little Lambs will be hosting a spring program this afternoon that will include a preschool “graduation service” as well as the children of Little Lambs singing songs and demonstrating some of the many things that they have learned throughout the year. You are all invited to come and support the children. Light refreshments will also be offered. Please join us at Little Lambs for our Spring Program, Sunday May 6 at 3:30pm.
Little Lambs Praying for Calls to be Filled
Little Lambs has extended a call to Mr. Stephen Pankow to serve as our director. Stephen currently serves as a staff minister at St. Paul’s First Lutheran Church in North Hollywood, CA. The board also filled out the necessary form to request a MLC graduate to be assigned as our toddler teacher. Call Day will take place on Saturday, May 12. The service will begin at 2:00pm and it will be streamed live on www.mlc-wels.edu. Please pray that God would answer our prayers and fill these positions according to his good and gracious will.
Confirmand Recognition Sunday – May 6
Coffee and cake will be served after worship on Sunday, May 6 as we honor Holly Ferguson and Chandler Ferguson who are preparing for their confirmation on May 13.
Confirmation Practice – May 12 at 9am-11:30am
A review of materials and a final preparation for Confirmation will be held on May 12 from 9am –11:30am.
Confirmation of Holly Ferguson and Chandler Ferguson – May 13
After instruction in God’s Word, Holly Ferguson and Chandler Ferguson, will publicly confess their faith in a special confirmation service on May 13. This service will find its focus on the six chief parts of the catechism. During the service the confirmands will be asked to recite portions of the catechism and to answer questions concerning their faith. May God bless Holly and Chandler through this experience as he strengthens and confirms them in the faith, and may he build up and edify the entire congregation through their confession.
Little Lambs Rummage Sale
The annual Little Lambs Rummage Sale will be held on June 8th and 9th. You may start dropping off donations on June 4th. Volunteers are needed throughout the week to sort and arrange the donations as they come in. More specific instructions will be made available soon. Please contact Beth Kuschel. Donate your lightly used items to the Little Lambs Rummage sale, help our center raise funds, and maybe find a few treasures to take home.
